Cornus extract complex
A 7:3 complex ingredient of Cornus fruit and Ribes fasciculatum leaf (body fat functionality)
The Cornus extract complex is a complex ingredient that blends extracts of Cornus (Cornus officinalis) fruit and Ribes fasciculatum (Ribes fasciculatum) leaf at a ratio of 7 to 3. In cell experiments, four blend ratios from 9:1 to 6:4 were compared, and 7:3, which gave the greatest suppression of adipogenesis genes, was selected.
It was developed by NINEB, a subsidiary of Ajou University's technology holding company. In a 12-week randomised, double-blind study in overweight women, body fat percentage and body fat mass fell significantly more than with placebo, and the ingredient was recognised by the MFDS as an individually approved functional ingredient (No. 2022-26, body fat reduction).
